Osama Hamdan, a leader in… Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) – It is an operation Al-Aqsa flood Targeted Israeli military sites in Gaza covernot civilians.
He stressed that the operation was part of the Palestinians’ plans for liberation and ending the occupation, and that it succeeded in achieving its goals and leaving the occupation soldiers dead, wounded, and captured.
Hamdan added – in a press conference from the Lebanese capital, Beirut – that the operation was part of the Palestinians’ struggle for freedom, self-determination and the defense of sanctities.
He stressed that the battle did not begin on the seventh of last October, but rather since the arrival of the British occupation 105 years ago, during which “the Palestinians suffered from siege and injustice, including Gaza, which turned into the largest open prison in the world,” as he put it.
Hamdan stressed that the movement dealt from the first moment with accelerating the return of civilian detainees who were brought to Gaza, and has already returned a number of them, noting that the government Benjamin Netanyahu She was the one who delayed returning the rest of the prisoners.
Refuting the occupation allegations
He pointed out that objective scientific investigations proved that an Israeli helicopter targeted those at the “Nova” celebration, and not the resistance as the occupation claimed, pointing out that some Israelis were also killed in the occupation’s bombing of sites where they were being held for field reasons.
Hamdan stressed that the resistance avoids targeting civilians, especially women, the elderly and children, as a religious and moral obligation, in contrast to what the occupation is doing in Gaza.
He added, “We are targeting soldiers and those who carry weapons against our people, which was confirmed by the commander.” Muhammad Al-Deif In the first minutes of the operation,” he pointed out that Israeli investigations and testimonies “confirmed the falsity of the occupation’s allegations that the resistance killed children and raped women.”
Hamdan said, “We assure the world that the brutal killing of civilians, especially women and children, is what has been committed against the residents of the Gaza Strip for 100 days as an Israeli method of displacement.”
He added, “The crimes committed against the Palestinians have been documented by international, UN, and Israeli organizations as well, and they have passed without accountability or action against the occupation.”
He stressed that the 24,000 martyrs, including 10,000 children, 7,000 women, 60,000 injured, and 8,000 missing “reveals the truth of this Nazi occupation, based on murder, forced displacement, and genocide, which it carries out in Gaza.”
America has supported the occupation since its inception
Hamdan said that the United States and its Western allies “have been dealing with the occupation since its inception as a state above the law, and they are still providing the necessary cover for its continued occupation, confiscating more land and sanctities, judaizing it, and imposing repellent environments to force the Palestinians to forcibly leave their homeland.”
He added, “The occupation leaders have repeatedly affirmed their categorical rejection of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. Netanyahu carried a map before the United Nations last September, which was empty of Palestine, and had Israel written on it. No one denied him his arrogance and his disregard for international society and law.”
From this standpoint, the Al-Aqsa Flood operation was part of the Palestinian people’s attempts to regain their land and rights, prevent the occupation’s control over their land and sanctities, and liquidate their cause, according to Hamdan.
South Africa
Regarding hearings international justice CourtHamdan said that the movement “highly appreciates what South Africa did against the occupation and the effort made by its legal team, and believes that it proves to the whole world the occupation’s involvement in Genocide crimes And ethnic cleansing.”
Hamdan stressed that what the South African legal team presented before the court “necessitates the need to stop the aggression immediately and begin prosecuting the occupation for the crime of genocide committed against the Palestinians.”
Hamdan welcomed the position of the brotherly and friendly countries that supported South Africa’s cause against Israel, and renewed his call to the rest of the countries to join this cause.
He added, “Israel failed to respond to the evidence of the South African legal team before the court regarding systematic killing, genocide, and forced displacement, and did nothing but implicitly acknowledge the crimes it committed against our people, which deepens its crisis in the face of the Palestinians’ right to freedom.”
He expressed the movement’s aspiration for the court to issue an urgent, historic decision that would do justice to the people of Gaza by stopping the aggression, providing relief to the people, and holding the occupation leaders accountable for the crimes they committed against the Palestinians.
Hamdan said that the position of America and some Western countries on the claim that it is baseless proves their involvement in what Israel is doing against the residents of Gaza. He said that those who adopt the occupation’s narrative do not see the crimes it is committing on the ground and practice a policy of double standards and sometimes defend its crimes.
Condemning the bombing of Yemen
Hamdan condemned the naval and air bombardment of Yemen, and considered it “a blatant crime of aggression against the sovereignty of Yemen and a threat to the security of the region by the American and British forces that came to protect the occupation.”
He stressed that the region “will not witness security and stability except by ending the Israeli occupation,” and said that America and Britain must respect the interests of countries that have become fed up with these aggressive policies and will not stand idly by in the face of the crimes of the occupation, as he put it.
In response to a question about the occupation’s offer to send medicines to its prisoners detained in Gaza, Hamdan said that the resistance treats the prisoners with whatever it has available as a religious and moral duty, noting that soldier Gilad Shalit remained in Gaza for 5 years and was receiving everything there.
He also pointed out that one of the prisoners was transferred to the hospital to receive treatment, despite the risks that the transfer process entailed.
He explained that the movement rejected the Israeli request for two reasons, the first of which is that the besieged people of Gaza are entitled to these medicines, and the second is that the issue is partly related to security matters, stressing that Netanyahu and his army leaders and soldiers are the ones who pose a threat to the lives of the prisoners, not the resistance.
Hamdan expressed the movement’s thanks to the State of Qatar, which continues to send medicines to the residents of the Gaza Strip, who face life-threatening things all the time.
