Former Zimbabwe goalkeeper George Chigova has been found dead at the age of 32 after collapsing unconscious at his home in South Africa.
The club confirmed his death yesterday, Wednesday, and said, “It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of former SuperSport United player, George Chigova. George was a great man at the club, and a gentle giant loved by current and former players and everyone at the club. Although his official time with the club ended in June / June 2023, but he regularly visited the training center and the stadium to support the team.”

Chigova, who played 32 matches for his country’s national team, suffered a heart attack last July before trying to return to football. He last played for South African team SuperSport United, which he joined in 2020.

Chigova participated with his country in the African Cup of Nations and won the South African Confederation Cup “COSAFA” with him in 2017 and 2018.
