(CNN) – Dubai-based real estate developer Damac said it has no plans to cancel its deal with Trump Organization despite the companies’ growing backlash in the United States, following the events of the congressional storming.
Emirati businessman Hussain Sajwani, founder and chairman of Damac Properties, said in a statement to CNN: “We have a wonderful relationship with the Trump Organization, and to be sure, we have no intention whatsoever to cancel our agreement.”
The Emirati billionaire added that the company was interested in expanding its partnership.
Sajwani said, “I will go further, as the organization will no longer be restricted to additional deals abroad in the future, and I would welcome the opportunity to broaden our relationship with the brand and search for more ways in which we can collaborate.”
Damac is Trump’s partner at a golf course and club in Dubai, which opened in 2017.
