The wife, Heba Abdel Aal, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a housewife, talked about her hobbies with her husband, Amjad Al-Daysti, who also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, and she said to “The Seventh Day”: “The topic was at first for us just a hobby that I and Amjad love, and we practice it in our spare time. But with time, it turned into a job, and that was five years ago. In the first, we started to work three-dimensional brides with foam, and her idea was new, and we were trying to make her not just a bride, so that she would be useful, like we make a pencil case in the shape of a doll that is useful for children and adults, and gifts are distributed every week. We developed the design and started making brides for certain professions such as a doctor or school, and this design is a surprise to many people.”

She continued, “After that, we started making designs for religious seasons, such as lanterns and decorations for the month of Ramadan, and brides for the Prophet’s birthday. On the other hand, we started making covers for school notebooks, and we designed miniatures and houses for children’s brides, simulating reality, with time we learn and develop more in our work.”

Heba and Amjad were not satisfied with designing miniatures, bridal houses and other handicrafts that they were known for among people, but decided to help others by creating an educational channel on YouTube. Our followers and benefit them in the implementation of the hand-made work, such as the work of miniature art and bridal homes.

And about the tools that Heba and Amjad use in implementing their designs, she said: “We use a lot of materials in our work, such as wood, foam, cork, fabric and cardboard, and we do a lot of recycling and use them in designing miniatures.”

The well-known popular saying, “The Carpenter’s Gate is dislocated”, did not apply to Heba and Amjad, who are keen on designing toys for their daughters, as Heba said: “I do any new job for my daughters, especially brides’ homes, because they love her very much, and they entertain.”

Regarding the time that Heba spends doing handicrafts with her husband, she said: “Handmade sculptures and miniatures take a very large amount of time and are very tiring, almost one maquette can take a job for a week or ten days, and frankly, the subject is very tiring, especially since my daughters are young, and of course I work. At home, so that I can stay with them, and be able to follow their studies and requests.”

And about the difficulties encountered by Heba and Amjad in their work with handicrafts, she said: “The biggest problem we meet in our work is shipping, because our designs need attention, otherwise they will be destroyed at the time of delivery, and also the lack of materials in the market.”

Heba dreams of fulfilling many wishes with her husband, Amjad, which she expressed by saying: “I hope, God willing, that my daughters will grow up a little, so that we can work in a private workshop between us, and we can work in it, and we can also know the job of Handmade, because many people ask us to do workshops for education, We also run an exhibition under the name of our brand and display our work.”
