Herdez Group y Group Kuo announced that, through Herdez del Fuerte, a joint venture, they bought Libanius (Interdeli and Deli, Dips & Snacks) for 587 million pesos.
The Mexican company that was acquired produces ready-to-eat products of Lebanese origin and others with the flavor of the Mediterranean. owns the brands Libanius, Flavor y Liguriaamong other.
Following the news, shares of Herdez Group on the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) rose 2.04% in this Monday’s session, at 35 pesos each, compared to the previous session. While the papers Kuo they remain without movements in the stock market.
This investment is part of the strategy of Herdez del Fuerte to expand its food portfolio with new capacities and brands that generate value, since it integrates a new category such as hummus, dry jocoque, pita bread and goat cheese, tortillas, toast and Greek yogurt, among others, since it has more than 100 products under more than 10 brands.
Herdez Group explained, in a statement, that this new line of products will be integrated into the portfolio of the Preserves segment, a division where the results of Aires de Campo, Barilla, Búfalo, Del Fuerte, Doña María, Herdez and McCormick, among others, are consolidated.
sales of Libanius amounted to nearly 473 million pesos in the last 12 months, with an EBITDA margin (operating flow) of 16.2 percent. It has two plants in Querétaro and more than 300 collaborators.

This last firm is an industrial conglomerate that participates in the consumer, chemical and automotive businesses. It reported revenue of approximately $57.3 billion in 2021.
Herdez Group is a company focused on the sector of processed foods and ice cream in Mexico, has operations in the United States through MegaMex and offers products such as guacamole, sauces and frozen Mexican food. In general, it has a portfolio of 1,380 products that it markets under brands such as Cielito Querido Café, Doña María, Embasa, Nestlé, Herdez, McCormick and Nutrisa.
