Ottawa Redblacks, Edmonton Elks Clash Sunday in Crucial CFL Week 5 Showdown
LOS ANGELES – Desperately pursuing wins, the Ottawa Redblacks (1-3) and Edmonton Elks (0-3) collide on Sunday (July 6th, 7:00 PM ET) to close out Week 5 of the CFL season. The pivotal matchup airs live on CBS Sports Network.
The Redblacks aim to rebound from last week’s 29-16 road loss to Toronto, which granted the Argonauts their first victory. Quarterback Dustin Crum completed 20 of 30 passes for 235 yards but threw one interception. He added a rushing touchdown and led Ottawa’s ground attack with 60 yards on eight carries. Receiver Geno Lewis contributed four catches for 83 yards.
Edmonton also seeks redemption after falling 36-23 to Winnipeg. Elks quarterback Tre Ford went 18-of-29 for 252 yards and one touchdown, connecting with Kaion Julien-Grant for the score. Julien-Grant paced the Elks offense with five receptions totaling 115 yards. Backup QB Cody Fajardo added a one-yard touchdown run on his sole carry.
