Hezbollah said that it attacked an Israeli logistical force and a bulldozer near the Dovev Barracks. It also said that it targeted the Zarit Barracks and an Israeli infantry force in Birkat Risha and at the Al-Taihat Triangle and Ruwaisat Al-Asi.
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades in Lebanon claimed responsibility for bombing northern Haifa, Shalomi and Nahariya with several missile salvoes in response to the occupation’s massacres and aggression against the Gaza Strip.
On the other hand, the Israeli army announced – in a statement – that 15 shells were fired from Lebanon towards Israel, of which 4 were intercepted.
The army revealed that a number of civilians were injured in an anti-tank missile attack that led to an Israeli vehicle being hit near the Dovev residential community, 800 meters from the border with Lebanon.
The Israeli Ambulance Authority said that 10 Israelis were injured in the Upper Galilee border region, and video footage showed cars on fire on a road near an open area.
The Israeli army’s home front called on residents of towns adjacent to the border with Lebanon, from Ras Naqoura in the west to Shebaa Farms in the east, to stay close to shelters and fortified rooms.
Bombardment with phosphorous missiles
On the Lebanese side, Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that an Israeli bombardment with phosphorous shells targeted the vicinity of the town of Yaroun, and another artillery shelling targeted the towns of Blida and Rmish, in southern Lebanon.
In light of the escalation on its northern border, Israel has evacuated tens of thousands of residents from communities along the border with Lebanon since the start of the war on Gaza.
The escalation resulted in the killing of at least 6 soldiers and two civilians, according to the Israeli army and medics.
91 people were killed on the Lebanese side, including 68 Hezbollah fighters and at least 11 civilians, including a Reuters photographer and a woman with her three granddaughters, according to a tally compiled by Agence France-Presse.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army said that its forces attacked a group of activists who were planning to launch an attack from Lebanese territory, and that a drone attacked another group near the border at night.
