The long wait is finally over. Indiana high school football is back! Week 1 is set to kick off tonight, and IndyStar’s team will be on the field bringing you live updates, highlights, post-game interviews, recaps, and photo galleries from all across Central Indiana.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the highlights from Week 1’s biggest games in Central Indiana:
1. Hamilton Southeastern defeats FW Carroll with a score of 28-14. Carroll ended HSE’s season last year, but this time, the Royals make a statement with a rematch win.
2. Bishop Chatard dominates Brebeuf Jesuit with a score of 49-23. Chatard clearly outplayed Brebeuf in this matchup.
3. Westfield takes a decisive victory over New Palestine with a score of 34-14. Jackson Gilbert’s performance was especially noteworthy, making his coach and dad proud.
4. FW Snider secures a 42-20 victory over Warren Central.
5. Cathedral dominates Lafayette Jeff with a final score of 55-14. Lafayette Jeff managed to score a couple of touchdowns, but Cathedral’s strong performance led to an overwhelming victory.
6. Fishers shuts out North Central with a score of 44-0. Fishers’ defense was unstoppable in this game.
7. Roncalli defeats Southport with a score of 43-20. Roncalli showed their dominance throughout the game.
8. Western Boone beats Sheridan with a score of 35-16. Western Boone’s strong offensive performance led them to victory.
9. Carmel narrowly defeats Homestead with a score of 14-7. It was a defensive struggle, but Carmel’s 68-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter proved to be the game-changer.
10. Hamilton Heights secures a victory over Lapel with a score of 27-14. Hamilton Heights put on a solid offensive display to secure the win.
11. Tri-West dominates Western with a score of 42-6. Derek Reid’s outstanding performance led Tri-West to a resounding victory.
12. Scecina defeats FW Concordia Lutheran with a score of 48-20. Scecina’s strong offensive plays proved too much for Concordia Lutheran.
13. Greenwood narrowly defeats Seymour with a score of 51-49. This game was a high-scoring affair, with both teams putting up impressive numbers on offense.
