New York, USA (CNN) – Hillary Clinton is currently writing a book with Canadian novelist Louise Penny, set in the wake of American political chaos.
The book, titled “State of Terror,” “State of Terror,” focuses on a secretary of state trying to solve a wave of terrorist attacks. The book will be published by Simon & Schuster and St. Martin’s Press and will be released on October 12th.
In a press release, the publishers described the book as “a unique collaboration of two old friends and thrillers.”
Benny, a well-known Canadian mysterious novelist, explains that she learned from Clinton’s experiences and her fears about working as Secretary of State under former President Barack Obama. “When I suggested the idea of writing a political thriller novel with my friend Hillary, I couldn’t help but say yes very quickly,” says Benny. “We talked about her time as Secretary of State. What was the worst nightmare I faced?
According to the publisher’s summary, the book “follows a junior secretary of state who joined the administration of her rival, a president who was installed after 4 years of American leadership pulled away from the world stage.” After a series of terrorist attacks, the Secretary must lead the effort “to uncover a murderous conspiracy, carefully designed to take advantage of dangerously the presence of a US government outside of contact and power in places of great importance.”
Clinton has written 7 more books. In 2018, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, embarked on a similar project, in which he co-wrote the political story “Thriller” with novelist James Patterson, entitled “The President is Missing”, meaning “The President is Missing.”
