Cancun, QR. With an investment of 120 million dollars, the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya hotel, operated by the Hilton hotel chain, opened its doors.
Danny Hughes, executive vice president and president for the Americas of the American chain, said “we are delighted to announce the debut of Hilton in Tulum, one of the main destinations in Mexico, with this luxury hotel.”
“The Caribbean and Latin America have been a priority market for Hilton, with Mexico having the fifth largest presence globally by number of hotels, with Tulum a central part of our growth strategy,” he added.
Just in December 2022, this same chain opened the Hilton Cancun All Inclusive Resort, with 715 rooms, with an investment of 500 million dollars, just 16 kilometers from the International Airport and 30 kilometers from the Cancun Hotel Zone.
Executives of the chain announced that in the course of 2022 the 350-room Conrad by Hilton and a 750-room Hilton Tulum would open, in addition to the completion of a 178-room Waldorf Astoria, which together will add another 600 million dollars in investment and 1,278 rooms, additional to the hotel inaugurated this Tuesday.
Added to this is a 180-room hotel that is about to open in Terminal 3 of the Cancun International Airport, for which they did not specify the investment.
Juan Corvinos, senior vice president of Development for the Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton, explained that on this occasion they are only the operators of these new lodging centers, since the investments are made by Mexican capital, with an important generation of jobs, since In the Hilton Cancun alone, 400 new beds have been opened, in addition to the more than 1,000 that will gradually open in Tulum.
In the case of the new Hilton Cancun All Inclusive, Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and Hilton Tulum, the investment corresponds to the El-Mann Group.

Valeria Nowotny, vice president for resorts and luxury hotels at Hilton, explained that the confidence generated by Cancun and the Mexican Caribbean in general comes from the projections of a permanent flow of international tourism to the destination in the medium and short term.
He also referred that Hilton is a leading global hotel company with a portfolio of 18 world-class brands that comprise more than 6,700 properties with more than 1 million rooms in 122 countries, of which Mexico is its fifth most important place both by number of rooms as well as their profitability, since 80 hotels operate throughout the country.
The executive added that at least 31 new hotel developments are currently under construction throughout the country, of which at least seven are in the development stage for Quintana Roo, and are independent of the four hotels announced this Tuesday.
