Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra women’s basketball closes out 2024 as well as its non-conference schedule on Saturday, December 29, with a home contest against in-state foe Iona from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

Hofstra rallied in the second half for a thrilling come-from-behind 76-71 overtime win over Bucknell on December 21, putting the Pride at 4-6 heading into Sunday against Iona. Chloe Sterling registered her first collegiate double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds while dishing out five assists, and Emma Von Essen poured in a team-leading 20 points against the Bison.
Iona is 4-7 following a 56-50 win over Saint Peter’s on December 21. Ella Fajardo and Zoey Ward are lead the Gaels in scoring with 7.5 points per game each, while Ward averages a team-leading 5.5 rebounds per game.
The all-time series record stands at 10-9 in favor of Iona. The Gaels have won the last two meetings, including last season’s 59-54 result in the Mack Sports Complex.
