This is the horror moment that Italian kart racer Luca Corberi completely lost his mind and decided to hurl a bumper at a high-speed rival in the middle of a Championship final race.
The 23-year-old Tony Kart driver retired nine laps into the 25-lap race after colliding with rival Paolo Ippolito, but his immediate anger simply failed to subside.
Corberi, whose family also happen to operate the track venue, saw the red mist descend and took to the side of the track holding the bumper from his kart.
In a moment of sheer madness Luca Corberi prepared to hurl a bumper at his rival on the track
Corberi calculated the attack and waited for Paolo Ippolito to pass before hurling the bumper
Commentators working on the live broadcast event could be heard repeatedly questioning ‘what is he doing!?’ as it soon became clear that Corberi was waiting for his rival to zoom past.
As a huddle of karts whirled around the corner at high velocity, Corberi picked his target before astonishingly launching the bumper into the path of Ippolito’s vehicle.
Corberi then shrugged off a marshal and ignored all warnings about walking across the track
Incensed, Corberi then proceeded to ignore all warning signs and stroll across the circuit as the first swathe of karts passed.
A track marshal on the opposite side of the track could be seen frantically waving at the 23-year-old, only to be promptly ignored.
Further footage then emerged of the immediate aftermath of the race, in which Corberi appeared to have sought out Ippolito in the pits and started to fight with his opponent.
Aerial footage appears to show Corberi stealthily charging upon his rival as he was stooped over his kart before punches were thrown.
Fellow drivers and staff members could be seen quickly rushing to separate Corberi and Ippolito, before hauling the two youngsters to opposite ends of the pits.

Following the race incident, former F1 World Champion Jenson Button took to social media to condemn Corberi and call for his permanent ejection from the sport. The British star also claimed the father of Corberi had been involved in the second fracas following the race.
‘Luca Corberi has just destroyed any chance he had at a racing career after his disgusting behaviour today at the FIA Karting World champs,’ wrote Button on social media.
‘His father owns the circuit and is seen power driving the guy into a wall. Life ban for both of these idiots please.’
