A worker has fallen to his death at a construction site in south-west Sydney in a horrific workplace casualty.
The 52-year-old man was reportedly abseiling at the worksite when he fell eight stories from the roof of a building just after midday on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Northumberland street in Liverpool at 12:30 after reports a man had fallen.
NSW Ambulance paramedics worked on the man but he died at the scene.
The 52-year-old tradesman is yet to be formally identified.
A spokesperson from SafeWork NSW told Daily Mail Australia that SafeWork inspectors were responding to the incident.
‘SafeWork is investigating an incident in Liverpool after reports a worker fell from the roof of an eight-story building and died’, the spokesperson said.
WorkCover and local police have launched an investigation into the death, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
