Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The case filed by pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yaser against the artist Mohamed Ramadan has surfaced again among activists on social media sites, with the approaching date of the hearing postponed by the Economic Court in Egypt to next March.
The lawsuit bearing No. 119 of 2020 filed by lawyer Magdi Helmy, the agent of the pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yaser, in which the artist, Mohamed Ramadan, demands compensation to his client for the damage caused to him, with an amount of 25 million pounds (about $ 1.5 million), according to a previous report by the Al-Ahram portal.
This exposure value comes “in view of the material and literary damages due to a photo published by the artist on a plane flown by Captain Ashraf Abu Al-Yasser, in which he said it was an experiment in piloting the plane,” according to what Al-Ahram killed, according to the pilot’s lawyer.
The lawsuit stated that “the artist, Mohamed Ramadan, took advantage of his client’s image to promote himself by publishing a video clip for a new song for him, which he called ‘You Are Not Searching at the Airport’, using the image of Captain Pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yasser in a spectacle in piloting the plane, which led to serious financial and moral damage to him.” “The Civil Aviation Authority punished the pilot, Ashraf Abu Al-Yasser, to withdraw his license for life for violating safety standards while flying, in addition to revoking his assistant’s license for a year.”
