GOODYEAR, Arizona – Want to see the much anticipated debut of the Cincinnati Reds’ new Hall of Fame-bound manager?
Then you’ll need to find your way to Arizona and make the drive to Maryvale Sports Complex, where the Milwaukee Brewers host the Reds in a split-squad exhibition opener Saturday afternoon.

So he’s skipping the home-opener half of the split squad set Saturday, when the Reds play Francona’s old team, the Cleveland Guardians, in Goodyear, Arizona, in a game aired on WLW 700 and on the Guardians local TV outlet.
Francona won’t be able to avoid the spectacle sure to accompany his return to Cleveland for a three-game series in June.
But for now, he said, “I’m going to Milwaukee (Maryvale).“I need to be a Red.”
