Al Jazeera broadcast scenes of the devastation that occurred in the Shujaiya central market area, east of Gaza.
The video – prepared by journalist Ismail Al-Ghoul for Al-Jazeera – showed some citizens inspecting what was left of their shops, luggage and belongings under the rubble of the destroyed area.
One of the eyewitnesses said that he was completely unable to express what he felt after all this destruction and devastation, while one of the medical teams said that he came to inspect his house after the occupation forces withdrew, and found it completely destroyed and uninhabitable.
