© Reuters. Iberdrola launches a green bond issue of 400 million at 5 years
Madrid, Nov 30 (.).- Iberdrola (BME:) has launched an issue of green bonds for an amount of 400 million euros at 5 years referenced to the value of its shares, and intends to request their admission to trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, as reported by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
In a note, the company explains that the holders of the bonds will have the option of receiving a cash payment that will be determined based on the evolution of the company’s share price.
Likewise, it clarifies that when the bonds are amortized, no new shares will be issued.
This is the third issue of green bonds that Iberdrola has launched this year, since on November 15 it closed the issue in the Euromarket of green bonds worth 1,500 million euros in two tranches, with a maturity period of between six and ten years.
And in March it closed another one, also for green bonds, for an amount of 1,000 million euros at ten years, the purpose of which was to finance certain projects in the offshore wind energy market.
