About 80 minutes away by car from Villahermosa, Tabasco to the municipality of Santiago de Teapa, there is a young school, the Jorge Efraín Aviation Institute (IDAJEF), which trains pilots, capable of successfully facing the challenges that aviation demands. José Gabriel Pérez Esquinca Burguete, director of the institute, considered it to be modern to satisfy the requirements of professional knowledge and skills required by aviation, permanently maintaining the academic quality of its students and adapting the educational processes to the needs of the airline industry.
In an interview with El Economista, the manager explained the creation process. “At IDAJEF we have been working for five years, but the project took me five years to do because we started with the facilities, the aircraft, the authorized study programs, what was necessary for our students to have the certainty that we are a respected company and even, We exceed the bases that the aviation authority asks us to do, we are governed by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC)”.
He commented that in all schools practically when the student finishes his degree, he has to take exams to get the title and the ID. “When we saw the problem that was the time when they called to take the exam, we registered and our programs have the Recognition of Official Validity of Studies (RVOE), authorized by the SEP.”
In the IDAJEF they teach the commercial and agricultural private aviator pilot careers and also, the higher university technician.
“To be a commercial pilot, you first have to have the foundation that you are a private pilot, just like you would be an ag pilot. If you stay with a private pilot, you can’t practice, you can’t work, it’s for you to fly as a hobby and, then, that’s the first phase, there are many students who decide on an agricultural or commercial career and the Higher University Technician starts from scratch to commercial pilot and you already leave with the title and ID from the school”, said Pérez Esquinca.
The degree lasts for two years plus eight months of social service. They have a track, where they carry out tests and practices. “We have the facility to carry out fumigation, the aircraft are our own and we have a workshop authorized by the AFAC and also, we do not have intermediaries to buy spare parts, we buy directly in the United States, the parts are original and we are in constant search of the highest quality standards,” he concluded.
