Thousands of Illinois Lottery players are celebrating a collective win after the evening Pick 4 drawing on Wednesday resulted in a total payout of $6.9 million. The winning numbers were the rare “quad” combination of 4-4-4-4, with a FIREBALL number of 2.
According to the Illinois Lottery, the drawing produced nearly 3,200 winning tickets across the state. The vast majority of these—over 2,700—secured a $2,500 prize. The largest individual prize of $30,000 was awarded to a single player who purchased their ticket online through the iLottery platform.
The drawing of four identical digits is an uncommon event. Including Wednesday’s result, this has happened only seven times in the Pick 4 game since the beginning of 2020. The last time a quad was drawn was in June 2024.
Lottery officials reminded winners that they have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes. The Pick 4 plus FIREBALL is an Illinois-exclusive game with drawings conducted twice daily at 12:40 p.m. and 9:22 p.m.
