This comes while Pakistan announced yesterday, Thursday, that it recorded the highest number of daily infections since the height of the first wave of the pandemic in June last year.
Yesterday, data revealed that Pakistan recorded 4,368 injuries and 63 deaths over the past twenty-four hours, and this brings the total number of injuries to 654,356 and the death toll to 1,4091.
Although the government stresses that citizens’ lack of compliance with pandemic restrictions is the reason for the increase in cases, Khan appeared in Tire on Wednesday during a meeting with his aides at his headquarters.
Khan and the rest of the attendees put on masks and sat in a closed space in the prime minister’s house.
It was announced that Khan, 68, and his wife were infected with the Coronavirus on March 20.
Widespread criticism of Khan spread on social media, indicating that Pakistan was struggling to implement social distancing rules and that the prime minister’s meeting set a bad example of this.
