IMSS-Wellness reaches 100% coverage in six states

The general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoe Robledoreported that the IMSS-Wellness Health Plan reached 100% coverage in hospitals, Health Centers and Medical Specialty Units (UNEMES) in the states of Baja California Sur, Colima, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora and Tlaxcala.

During the morning conference of the president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the general director of the IMSS explained that in Nayarit there is coverage in 13 hospitals, 4 UNEMES and 292 Health Units; there are 1,079 specialist and general physicians, and 1,542 Nursing personnel; 907 million pesos have been invested, of which 237 are in infrastructure and 669.8 in equipment; 99.7% of prescriptions are filled.

He commented that work is being done in coordination with other state institutions in the face of the effects that Hurricane Roslyn caused in the hospitals that are part of the IMSS-Wellness program, both in Acaponeta, Rosamorada and Tecuala.

Robledo indicated that in Tlaxcala IMSS-Wellness has a presence in 10 hospitals and 195 Health Units; progress was made with 1,154 specialist and general physicians, and 1,350 Nursing personnel; 453.7 million pesos have been invested since July 29, of which 157.4 have been in infrastructure and 296.3 in equipment, both for hospitals and First Level units; in the supply of filled prescriptions, it went from 81 to 93 percent.

In the case of Colima, he explained that the program has been installed in 5 hospitals, 132 Health Units and a Hemodialysis Center; in specialist and general physicians there is coverage of 641, and in Nursing personnel, 919; 292 million pesos in investment have been contemplated, of which 130 million pesos are destined for infrastructure and 161 million in equipment; in filled prescriptions it went from 87 to 96.8 percent.

The head of Social Security said that in Baja California Sur IMSS-Wellness began on October 1 and to date operates in 6 hospitals, 3 UNEMES and 57 Health Units; There is 59% coverage for specialist doctors, 60% for general practitioners and Nursing personnel, the First and Second Level of care training was completed; An investment of 309 million pesos is contemplated, 132 million for infrastructure and 177 in equipment; the supply of 99% of assorted prescriptions has been maintained.

He reported that in Sonora it also started on October 1, there is a presence in 15 hospitals, 219 Health Units and a UNEME; It takes 67% coverage for specialist doctors, 50% for general practitioners and Nursing staff in order to cover all shifts; All First and Second Level workers have been trained and there is a supply of 94% of filled prescriptions.

Zoé Robledo said that in Sinaloa coverage is registered in 20 hospitals, 227 Health Units and 3 UNEME; It has 67% coverage for specialist doctors, 50% for general practitioners and nursing staff, and all First and Second Level staff have been trained; the investment is 601 million pesos for infrastructure and equipment; 82.80% of filled recipes are registered.

On the other hand, the general director of Social Security, Zoé Robledo, explained that, as part of the change in the model and strengths of IMSS-Wellness, focused on community action, the Health Committees made up of volunteers, have made 13,134 home visits: 10,503 in Nayarit, 2,023 in Colima and 608 in Tlaxcala.
