Puebla, Pue. The president of the National Chamber of the Housing Development and Promotion Industry (Canadevi) in the entity, Ariosto Goytortua López, admitted that an order is required in the execution of vertical projects, because complaints are arising in some areas of the state capital due to the construction of tall buildings that are affecting the water supply, where there is a reduction in service.
He commented that he has asked businessmen in his sector to be careful in choosing areas to detonate a building, in order to avoid not only complaints but also shortage problems for their own buyers.
The leader mentioned that the Puebla City Council asks them to adhere to the Urban Development Planwhere the susceptible areas to build are identified, “to which, the majority is paying attention to invest in new housing developments”.
He commented that a couple of projects were delayed for two years due to opposition from neighbors, who accused that “they broke with the urban environment and that it led to injunctions against the work to stop it or cancel it, which did not happen.”
In this vein, he warned that if the recommendations of the authority are not taken into account, more situations of this type may occur, even when there is a need for housing in the downtown area.
According to Urban Development Plan there is a need for 20,000 houses in the downtown area and only 4,000 have been built with 11 new buildings, but businessmen have seen that this cannot be covered in the short term if there are obstacles that include areas with water scarcity and mobility problems .
Goytortua López commented that the Canadevi maintains a rapprochement with the partners so that between them they investigate whether the area is viable and guarantee that the investment is executed without legal problems.
He said that there are projects at the door for the Historic Center area, which began in early 2022 after finding the land that meets the needs.

However, he admitted that there are areas that, due to the demand for vertical housing, are forcing projects that face legal problems in their execution and are also acquired slowly, which is not convenient for the return on investment.
He indicated that developers must contribute to it, for which it is necessary to have a relationship with municipal authorities so that it is built in a sustainable manner.
