Fourth-placed Juventus raised its score to 66 points from 34 games, one point behind Napoli, third, and eight points ahead of fifth-placed Roma in the race to play in Europe. And Sassuolo remained tenth.
Sassuolo had the most dangerous chances at the start to take a deserved lead when Italy striker Giacomo Raspadori scored in the 38th minute.
However, with Juventus’ first attempt on goal before the break, the visiting team equalized by Argentine Paulo Dybala.
Alvaro Morata thought he had crowned his team’s uprising at the start of the second half, but his header was saved by goalkeeper Andrea Conselli, who then allowed Kean to score a goal from between his legs two minutes before the end.
“The team has developed a lot, but we have to manage the matches better,” Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri told Sky Sports Italia.
“I’m not thinking of changing a lot of players but we will need one or two (during the transfer window). The team is having a good season.
“There is some stress but I thank the players. We have a good advantage now over the fifth, and we are one point behind Napoli and we have to keep working.”
Sassuolo, who is mid-table with 46 points and has little to contend with, started the match determined to make things difficult for Juve and almost went ahead but the Juventus goalkeeper saved the efforts of Domenico Berardi and Rasbadori.
But Rasbadori opened the scoring after that, a goal Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczecin will not want to see again, as the ball passed from him from a narrow angle.
Dybala’s goal, who announced that he would leave the club at the end of the season, brought Juventus back into the match and reminded everyone of the capabilities of the Argentine, who scored his ninth goal in the league this season.
Juventus dominated the second half, as Conselli denied him repeatedly before Kane replaced him to seal the victory of his team.
