“In the SAT there is no longer a backlog of appointments”

In the Tax Administration Service (SAT) the backlog of 1.8 million appointments that caused the healthy distance measures to prevent contagion in the Covid-19 pandemic ended, Andrea Hernández Xoxotla, general administrator of Taxpayer Services at the federal agency.

We got to have 1.8 million appointments at the peak of demand, but today the issue of appointments is only a matter of perception. There are already appointments. We are no longer behind,” said the interviewee.

Hernández Xoxotal recalled that between 2020 and 2021 the SAT staff had to be protected so as not to have full spaces for security and therefore the workforce was reduced.

“This had an impact on the offer (of appointments) and generated a backlog in attention that was accumulating.” In addition, data from the SAT revealed that the pandemic led to a 35% reduction in spaces for face-to-face appointments as of March 2020.

Last week, the SAT revealed the first appointment traffic light where they reported their availability through three colors: green (high availability), yellow (medium availability) and red (low availability). The foregoing applies to the 154 tax offices throughout the country and the information will be updated every Monday.

The perception of taxpayers is that there are no citations and removing this stigma is a complicated issue. Therefore, the idea of ​​this appointment traffic light is for the taxpayer to know which of the 154 SAT offices they can go to get an appointment, said Hernández Xoxotla.

At the close of January 9, only 10 of the 154 SAT offices had low availability of appointments.

“We are working to continue improving the topic of appointments and service. The Virtual Queue is a guarantee, we are the first manager towards the taxpayer, that is, we guarantee the appointment. So that people use it because it is a good use tool and the service is guaranteed”, commented the official.

In this sense, he assured that appointments are no longer sold from the SAT and urged taxpayers not to pay a third party, such as a manager who processes the appointment, because the federal tax services are free.

CFDI 4.0

In the subject of Digital Fiscal Receipt via Internet 4.0 (CFDI or invoice) now includes data such as: the name, reason or corporate name and postal code of the taxpayer in favor of whom the CFDI is issued.

The foregoing, said the general administrator, is to avoid identity theft and have security in the issuance of invoices. As well as to avoid tax evasion and avoidance; within the SAT the invoice will be used to cross information with the database.

In the case of CFDI 4.0 with a payroll complement, from January 1 to March 31, the federal tax office will maintain a facility on its portal so that the employer can request, for the only occasion, the necessary information for the payroll stamp. , that is, the authorization of the SAT to accept the invoice and therefore the employers can deduct the payroll.

“The worker would no longer have to go for his Proof of Fiscal Situation, this facility is granted to the employer so that they can guarantee the payroll,” he said.

CFDI 4.0 and 3.3 are in a period of coexistence until March 31, 2023, as of April 1, only version 4.0 will be in force.
