The pioneers of social networking sites in Saudi Arabia circulated a video clip of an Egyptian young man who is not fluent in the dialect of the people of Egypt, as well as the dialect of the people of the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia.
The young man named Hamza Al-Jaafar was born in Al-Badaa ‘district in Al-Qassim, and he stays there until now, accompanied by his parents, sisters and brothers, he indicated that he has brothers married to Saudi women.
Al-Jaafar, who is 27, explained that he lived his entire life inside Al-Qassim, leaving only one year in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah to study.
He emphasized that he is not fluent in the Egyptian dialect, like his mastery of the Qassim dialect, indicating that when he speaks it, it is by way of imitation like any other dialect.
And he considered that Al-Qassim was his first and last home, and if time was returned to it again, he would choose Al-Qassim to be in Egypt or any other Saudi region.
He recounted a joke that happened to him because of his Egyptian identity, that an officer asked for his identity papers and did not believe that he was Egyptian because of his Qassim accent to the point that the officer asked the soldiers to verify his identity twice.
