Inai orders the SAT to report on complaints against its staff for corruption

The National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (Henna) instructed the Tax Administration Service (SAT) publicize the complaints filed with the General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR) against some members of its staff, for acts of corruptionas well as information on the dismissals that took place, according to what was stated by the then head, Raquel Buenrostro, in October 2021, during a meeting with members of the Treasury and Public Credit Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.

Through a statement, the Henna pointed out that the SAT must specify, in each case, the date on which it was presented; name and title of the person(s) denounced; the crime; the fact or matter that warranted the complaint; the total property damage and/or amount involved; the status of the complaint, and the number of detainees and their current legal situation.

Regarding dismissals, you must inform the date of the dismissal; names and titles of the people fired; delegation or area to which they belonged; the fact or matter that warranted the dismissal; the laws, regulations or standards violated, specifying the items, and the total property damage and/or amount involved.

“In any act where the misuse of public resources is noticed, the right of access to public property should always be privileged, that is, the right of access to information of citizens, in general, since it accounts for the cash exercise of the taxes that are collected by the Tax Administration Service,” said Commissioner Adrián Alcalá Méndez.
