Paramedics were called to Omaha Central High School on Monday afternoon following an altercation in a bathroom.
The incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., prompted officials to place the school on a “hold” for 30 minutes. According to a notification sent to parents, a hold requires students to remain in their classrooms with learning continuing as normal while hallways are cleared.
The school’s resource officer and staff responded to de-escalate the conflict. A student required medical attention from the paramedics who were dispatched to the scene. Law enforcement and district safety officials were also contacted to provide assistance.
