The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announced the martyrdom of 66 journalists and media workers due to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip Gaza Which started on October 7 last year.
The union explained – in a tally published yesterday, Friday, on Facebook – that there are two missing journalists, Nidal Al-Wahidi and Haitham Abdel-Wahed, while there are 31 captive journalists who were arrested by the occupation authorities in the Palestinian territories.
It indicated that among the toll of martyrs were 6 female journalists who were killed during the aggression: Salma Mukhaymar, Salam Mima, Iman Al-Aqili, Alaa Al-Hasanat, Ayat Khadura, and Duaa Sharaf.
Violations and claims
In a statement, the union called on all international, Arab and Palestinian institutions working in the feminist and human rights sector to follow up and prosecute the Israeli occupation system for its crimes against female journalists who are being targeted for killing, arrest, persecution, beatings and assaults on the basis of their journalistic work.
Yesterday, Friday, the temporary humanitarian truce, initially set for 4 days, between Israel and the Palestinian factions entered into force at 7:00 local time (5:00 GMT).
