INCmty 2022 detonates an investment and entrepreneurship ecosystem

The INCmty entrepreneurship festival ends its tenth edition with 300 investment interactions and triggering innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the three days of the event, which was held at Cintermex, in Monterrey, attendees were able to attend conferences with international speakers such as Alina Morse, CEO of Zolli Xandy, a business that started when she was nine years old, Jay Shetty, ex-monk, and Penny Locaso, happiness hacker.

The 10,000 attendees, face-to-face and virtual (who will have access to the conferences in the coming days), including entrepreneurs, investors, and students, were able to learn about issues of health, emotional well-being, trends, evolution and transformation of industries, as well as practices and tools to boost business growth and connect with entrepreneurs and investors.

“This edition of INCmty is energized for having the event in person again after two years of being virtual”, said Josué Delgado, director of the festival.

“We have had encounters that trigger eureka, which occurs when you start to have those living spaces in the corridorsin conferences and networking meetings where business opportunities are generated”.

Delgado commented that the venture has had an important change after the pandemic because it forced reinvent itself rapidly.

“Today, entrepreneurship is happening as an important trend to develop your person or employability. There are more and more people of all ages who are thinking of starting a business”.

INC Accelerator

The final of INC Accelerator 2022 was also held at the festival, where they presented early stage startups that seek to generate a positive impact for society, with a focus on one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The winner of this edition was BioGrip, led by Alan Ventura Hernández Talavera, a graduate of the Tec de Monterrey in Mexico City.

The entrepreneur was awarded 700,000 pesos in accumulated stock market and the opportunity to participate as a representative of Mexico in two of the most important global entrepreneurship competitions in the world: Extreme Tech Challenge and Entrepreneurship World Cup.

Second place was obtained by Fernanda Aldrette from Databits, by Fernanda Aldrette, Ecuadorian EXATEC and third place by CUVO by Homero Sánchez from Coahuila.

Entrepreneurship program recognized

At the festival, David Garza, Rector and President of Tecnológico de Monterrey, announced that the institution was recognized as the only university, outside the United States, in the Top Schools for Entrepreneurship Ranking 2023 by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur, occupying the position number four in entrepreneurship programs at the undergraduate level.

“INCmty is a space where you can feel the great passion that both entrepreneurs and businessmen, authorities and academics have for promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, since it is the key to triggering economic growth and strengthening society. In the 10 years we have seen many advances in the sector but we want to have an even greater impact in the next 10 years, promoting creativity, motivation and resilience in the ventures”, he concluded.
