Air India and Russia have joined several airlines that have suspended flights to Tel Aviv, amid fears of a war between Iran and Israel.
Air India said on Friday it has suspended its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv effective immediately until further notice, in view of the current situation in the Middle East.
The Indian company said in a statement that it is constantly monitoring the situation, and pledged to provide a full refund to its passengers who have confirmed reservations to travel to and from Tel Aviv.
“The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority,” she said.
For its part, the Russian Civil Aviation Authority announced today a ban on flights from Russia to Israel from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. until August 16.

German airline Lufthansa has extended the suspension of all flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman and Erbil until August 13, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
The German company said in a statement on Wednesday that “based on the company’s current security analysis, the Lufthansa Group is once again adjusting its flights to the Middle East.”
Channel 12 Israel said that a number of Western companies preceded Lufthansa in suspending their flights to Israel until August 13, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Swiss International Air Lines.
Before that, the French airline Air France announced the cancellation of its flights between Paris and Beirut, and said in a statement that “the resumption of operations will be subject to a new assessment of the internal situation.”
