INE calls on Ebrard to adjust behaviors to avoid early pre-campaign acts towards 2024

The Complaints and Complaints Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) made a call to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Louis Ebrard Casaubonso that they adjust their acts and behaviors to the limits and constitutional parameters, in order not to fall into anticipated acts of pre-campaign and campaign towards 2024.

Unanimously, the directors Adriana Favela, Claudia Zavala y Ciro Murayama declared inadmissible two requests for precautionary measures filed against Ebrard Casaubon, the first made by citizen Rodrigo Antonio Pérez Roldán, and the second by Patricia Martínez Hernández.

In the two matters, various conducts were denounced that presumably constitute anticipated acts of pre-campaign and campaign and the improper use of public resources for electoral purposes that seek to overexpose the name, image and qualities of the chancellor, in order to position him towards the Federal Electoral Process 2023-2024in violation of the principle of impartiality and neutrality and the inadmissibility of the precautionary measure was determined.

However, the members of the INE Commission considered it pertinent to issue a statement addressed to Marcelo Ebrard, so that at all times he adjusts his acts and conduct to the limits and constitutional parameters, stressing the obligation of his position to conduct himself impartially and neutrality in order not to affect the equity in the contest, respecting the times established by law in terms of campaigns and pre-campaigns.

The alleged use of public resources was referred to the Specialized Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF), who will determine, if applicable, if there are, for example, public resources involved in contravention of the Constitution and the law.

Deputy María Clemente García commented on gender political violence

In another matter, the Commission resolved a complaint filed by the federal deputy of the PAN, María Teresa Castell de Oro Palacios, against her counterpart from Morena, María Clemente García Moreno, for allegedly committing conduct constituting Political Violence against Women based on Gender (VPMRG).

The Commission considered it appropriate to order the removal of a message on Twitter from the account of María Clemente García, since they contain statements that generate a disproportionate impact on the PAN deputy given her status as a woman, since they can be discriminatory and contain symbolic violence, “For this reason, it is considered necessary to adopt the measure so that it does not harm her exercise of the position for which she was elected, therefore the immediate removal of the Twitter link was ordered within a period that may not exceed three hours.” This is a video in which Congresswoman García verbally assaults her fellow legislator.

In a third matter, the members of the Commission denied precautionary measures to the deputy of Morena, Salma Luévano Luna, against the citizen Rodrigo lván Cortés Jiménez, whom they identify as national president of the “National Front for the Family” and that association, by VPMRG derived from various comments and publications made on the social networks Twitter and Facebook
