The inflation in mexico repeated, in September, the rate reported the previous month, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (inegi).
In the national month, the National consumer price index (INPC) reported a monthly variation of 0.62%, while in annual comparison, consumer prices showed an increase of 8.70 percent.
The data for September is the same as the data reported in August and was below the market projection, which expected a new maximum in more than two decades with inflation of 8.74 percent.
Although inflation repeated doses, previously analysts did not rule out that in December it would accelerate again due to the December season and a comparison base effect.
Both nationally and internationally, inflation has been one of the great problems due to the persistence of pressures, and its main affectation for people with fewer resources.
In Mexico, this has led the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) I took a restrictive stance, with increases that have taken its interest rate to a record level of 9.25 percent.
Meanwhile, the government has also made efforts to try to control inflation with the Package Against Inflation and Famine (PACIC), which has had a moderate impact and for which a few days ago it was reinforced with a new agreement with the private initiative.
Food prices continue to hit
Within the Inegi report, it was observed that once again, food prices are what put pressure on prices, as they appear in the two indices that make up inflation.
On the side of the Underlying Index, which eliminates from its calculation the goods and services with more volatile prices, an increase of 8.28 percent was observed.
Within this, the greatest pressure was food, beverages and tobacco, with a price increase of 10.84 percent. Pressure from services was also observed, which in September showed a price increase of 5.35 percent.
In the case of the Non-Core Index, in the national month it showed an annual increase of 9.96 percent.
Inside, the pressures came from livestock products, which became more expensive by 15.79%, while fruits and vegetables increased their price by 14.18 percent.
