Queretaro, Qro. The behavior of inflation will continue to be a challenge for the commerce sector during this 2023, recognized the president of the National Chamber of Commerce, Services and Tourism (Canaco Servytur), Fabian Camacho Arredondo.
In particular, he estimated that the upward trend will impact commerce, the service industry and tourism service providers, “these are activities that have chosen to contain the impact of inflation in order not to reduce consumption.”
“This rise reflects the trend we had in 2022 and the scenario we foresee for this 2023, where inflation continues to be a challenge for the commercial sector, especially for those represented in the chamber of commerce (…) who have sought during the last months to contain as much as possible the direct increase to the consumer”, he explained.
Faced with the January slope, he stressed that the merchants affiliated with the chamber have proposed to keep consumer prices unchanged.
Meanwhile, there is confidence that consumption will increase on February 14, as it will be the next season of high sales. For this reason, he said that training is provided to entrepreneurs in order for them to use strategies that translate into income.
We trust that, in the coming seasons that are important for consumption, such as the first big season on February 14, it may represent an opportune moment, above all to generate favorable inertia,” he stated.
