British business owner and foodie, Grace G (pictured), has shared her ‘life-changing’ hack to make Cadbury Mini Eggs taste even better
She heats the eggs in the microwave for 50 seconds so that the chocolate inside becomes melted (right). Experts warn that her method could have disastrous consequences if done wrong
‘I saw someone microwave Mini Eggs so I had to try it,’ she said on TikTok.
She revealed she had already eaten half the packet before seeing the hack, so she tipped the other half of the bag of Mini Eggs into a microwaveable bowl and put them in her microwave.
Grace advised her followers to put the chocolates into the microwave for 50 seconds until the chocolate on the inside is soft and gooey.
Over four million food-lovers saw the video and were very impressed with the ‘delicious’ hack.
‘Looks soo good omg,’ one woman said.
‘OMG I need to try,’ another commented.
Others called the tip a complete ‘game-changer’ and said they couldn’t wait to try it.
Some foodies had been using the method for years with snacks such as minstrels, and even microwaved chocolate bars.
However, not everyone is in favour of Grace’s tip.
Appliances Online expert Colin Jones told News.com.au that putting hard-shelled chocolate in a microwave can cause them to explode.
He advised people who are thinking of trying out the trick to treat the treats the same way you would a normal egg.
Foods that have a high-water content but are contained within a hard shell, like eggs, potato and hard-shelled lollies can explode from heat contact as the water turns to steam and has no way to escape.
‘If you are wanting to melt these eggs or any other chocolate in the microwave, I would recommend doing so in short 30-second intervals,’ Chloe Skipp from Appliances Online told News.com.au.
