Injured Kevin Durant targeting a return to the court on Wednesday… and he could play the final seven games of the regular season in huge boost for Phoenix Suns after ankle injury
Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant is nearing a return to the lineup and could be back on the court as early as Wednesday night.
Durant’s injury occurred when he slipped during pregame warmups before playing the Oklahoma City Thunder, spraining his ankle
Following the injury, it was announced that Durant would be re-evaluated in two-three weeks, and barring any setbacks and will likely make his return against the Minnesota Timberwolves, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Durant has played in only three games for the Suns since being traded to the team on February 9th. At the time of the trade, he was still recovering from a sprained MCL he suffered while playing for the Brooklyn Nets.

In the three games he suited up for Phoenix, Durant averaged 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Durant’s new teammate Devin Booker seemed to have benefitted the most seeing as he had unearthed a franchise record-setting hot streak once Durant had been added to the lineup.
Booker had scored 35 or more points in all three games with Durant in the lineup.
Even after Durant was ruled out shortly before the game against OKC, Booker’s hot streak continued as he became the first player in Suns history with at least four straight games scoring 35 points or more.
His average for the season has been 27.2 points, showing just how much he has benefited from Durant’s presence.
Phoenix could currently use all the help they can get from Durant as they look to secure playoff seeding over the course of season’s final seven games.
The Suns currently have a record of 38-34 and are fourth place in the NBA Western Conference.
Phoenix could easily fall down the standings if they slip up down the stretch as they are only two and a half games ahead if the 11th place Thunder in the jam-packed west.
