Bad news on the Buccaneers’ injury front today.
No. 1 cornerback Carlton Davis was held out of practice for the second consecutive day with a toe injury. Joe sure hopes it’s not turf toe.
Limited in practice was nickel cornerback Christian Izien, the undrafted rookie who had a key interception on Sunday. He’s listed with a concussion on the official injury report as of yesterday. Joe’s wondering when the injury occurred, and when his symptoms appeared. Concussion issues can often arise days after the traumatic head injury.
It seems unlikely Izien will play Sunday. Veteran Dee Delaney is his likely replacement.
Joe doesn’t even want to think off the Bucs defense without Davis in the lineup.
