Recent reports indicate that an apparent knee injury sustained by WWE Superstar Seth Rollins during a live event was a staged part of a storyline.
During a match against LA Knight at a WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Rollins appeared to suffer a legitimate injury, causing concern. However, new information confirms this was a meticulously planned angle designed to be deceptive.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which corroborates an earlier report from John Pollock, the incident was deliberately orchestrated. The performance was reportedly so convincing that the majority of personnel backstage believed the injury was authentic, with only a very small circle aware of the plan.
The staged injury is allegedly a setup for a major angle at WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam premium live event. The storyline is expected to culminate with Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank contract, either during or after the World Championship match between Gunther and CM Punk.
