Following an extended week of preparation, the San Francisco 49ers have released their official game status report ahead of their Week 6 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Quarterback Mac Jones is listed as questionable, but the team is optimistic he will be available on Sunday. General Manager John Lynch said this week that Jones is in good shape and continues to progress. Meanwhile, quarterback Brock Purdy will remain sidelined as he recovers from a toe injury, with the team ensuring he is fully healthy before he returns to play.
The receiving corps will be without Ricky Pearsall, who has been ruled out with a knee injury and did not practice this week. Fellow wide receiver Jauan Jennings is questionable with ankle and rib injuries, though he showed encouraging improvement by progressing to limited practice participation by the end of the week.
In the secondary, safety Malik Mustapha has been designated to return from the Injured Reserve list, opening his 21-day practice window. After undergoing ACL surgery in January, Mustapha was a full participant in his first practice back and is listed as questionable. If his progress continues, he could make his season debut on Sunday.
