INM, in communication with authorities for 35 migrants rescued in SLP

He Migration’s national institute (INM) reported that it maintains communication and collaboration with federal and local authorities to provide care and assistance to people who were victims of alleged kidnapping and illegal deprivation of liberty in San Luis Potosí.

The INM announced, in an information card, that when it learned that the people who had been victims of the aforementioned crimes are citizens of other countries –mostly from Central America–, they contacted the Attorney General’s Office of the State, the Secretary of Public Security of Guanajuato, the National Guard and the Command of the Twelfth Military Zone, to assist in relief tasks, as established by the immigration authority.

The discovery of 35 people of other nationalities occurred on April 6, on highway 57 in Matehuala; and, according to the words of Diego Sinhue Rodríguez, governor of Guanajuatothese were found after an operation by the entity’s Secretary of Public Security, which began after the disappearance of a group of tourists, when they left for Saltillo.

On the other hand, the National Institute of Migration said it is aware of the determinations established by the security authorities of Guanajuato to carry out the administrative procedure that allows defining the migratory situation of the 35 affected people.

In addition, he assured that he will provide the support that is necessary to safeguard the rights of people in a migrant situation.
