Although artificial intelligence dominated the exhibits at the Consumer Electronics Show 2024 in Las Vegas, the exhibition also witnessed some tangible trends and other notable designs, according to the German News Agency.
Among the most important devices that have received changes are laptops. Here is a quick look at the most important trends in the world of these computers:
A laptop that turns into a tablet
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid is considered a device. One of the most exciting models at this year’s electronics show. As the name of the device suggests, it combines a 14-inch laptop with Microsoft Windows and a 14-inch tablet with Google Android.
The two devices are compatible with each other, and recorded data such as images can be recalled via the hybrid engine. In addition, the Android tablet mode can be operated in the Microsoft Windows operating system environment, and the screen also supports data entry using a data entry pen.
The biggest advantage of the Lenovo device is the ability to continue using the laptop after removing the screen and using it as a tablet. The rest of the laptop can be used via an external screen, such as a Windows computer. The new Lenovo device is expected to be launched during the second quarter of 2024.
3D laptop without glasses
Acer expressed its belief in the idea of 3D display on laptop screens by unveiling the “Aspire 3D 15 Special Labs Edition” model during its participation in the Consumer Electronics Show.
The technical equipment package for the new Acer device includes a 3D screen, in addition to two cameras on the upper edge of the screen to track the position of the user’s eyes.
In the background, an Acer artificial intelligence model creates deep maps of the 2D contents of programs and videos, and then creates a double image on the 4K screen. For the person sitting in front of the laptop, this image simulates 3D technology.
Integrate the CoPilot button
The technical equipment package of many Windows laptops includes the Copilot button, which appears on the keyboard next to the space bar to the right, and this button activates the artificial intelligence assistant of the same name.
The CoPilot assistant answers queries and completes tasks via artificial intelligence such as GBT chat. Microsoft announced that the CoPilot assistant was included in the Microsoft Office 365 office software package and the Bing search engine.
Light weight
High-performance gaming laptops are no longer bulky or heavy; Asus introduced its “Rogue Zephyrus G14” device to pull the rug out of the “Razer Blade 14” model. The Asus device comes in an aluminum body and features a 14-inch screen, inside which is an AMD Ryzen 9 processor and a GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card. Its weight is 1.5 kg and its thickness does not exceed 1.59 cm.
Although the computer looks like a small business device, it includes an LED strip in the lid that can be used to create various effects. Asus provides the “Zephyris G16” device with a 16-inch screen, more powerful processors, and a “GeForce RTX 4090” graphics card to meet the requirements of gamers who want larger screens and more powerful processors.
Dual screen laptop
Asus previously presented the ZenBook Duo laptop with a second screen above the keyboard, but the Taiwanese company has redesigned the current year 2024 model of the ZenBook Duo, and presented a model similar to the Lenovo Yoga Book with a 13-inch screen, and it comes equipped with two OLED screens of the same size.
Similar to other laptops, there is a screen in the lid and another screen in the place where the keyboard is supposed to be. The two screens can be opened horizontally, placed vertically using a foldable stand, or placed flat.
If the user wants to use the laptop traditionally, he can display the keyboard on the second screen and use the ZenBook Duo like any traditional laptop. It has Intel processors and RAM with a capacity of up to 32 GB.
