Inter Milan won the Italian Super Cup for the sixth time in its history, after achieving a fatal 2-1 victory over Juventus, on Wednesday evening, at the end of the second half of extra time after the original time ended with a 1-1 draw.
American Weston McKinney scored for Juventus in the 25th minute, but Argentine Lautaro Martinez equalized for Inter in the 35th minute with a penalty kick.
The two teams were unable to score during the remaining minutes of the original time, so they played an extra time of half an hour in two halves.
While everyone was preparing for the end of extra time with a 1-1 draw and the resort to penalty kicks, veteran Chilean star Alexis Sanchez scored the crowning goal for Inter in the first minute of stoppage time for the fourth half.
Thus, Inter, who participated in the meeting as the holders of the Italian League title last season, regained the Italian Super Cup, which he had missed since 2010.
On the other hand, Juventus, which won the Italian Cup last season, failed to consolidate its record as the most winning team in the Italian Super Cup, to keep its balance at 9 titles.
