Investing Show: We’ve bought US tech stars like Tesla because of how great they could really become, says Scottish Mortgage’s Tom Slater
Shares in US-tech stars may be expensive but that reflects how great they could one day be, says Scottish Mortgage’s Tom Slater.
The co-manager of the more than 100-year-old investment trust, which seeks out firms that can deliver the global growth of the future, reveals why he doesn’t hold the fears some do over high valuations for Silicon Valley’s finest.
Tom joins us on the Investing Show to discuss why the opportunities are so great for Amazon, Alphabet and Tesla and also the US stars’ Asian counterparts.
He explains how the trust looks for the best prospects and evaluates in them, in the studio with This is Money’s Simon Lambert.
Also on this fortnight’s show Richard Hunter, of Wilson King IM, reveals the chart that long-term investors need to see and Nick Batsford, of TipTV and a former trader, explains the signs to watch out for in a market top.
