© Reuters. Investment through “leasing” until November grows 31.7% year-on-year
Madrid, Jan 10 (.) .- The investment of Spanish companies to finance both movable and real estate assets through “leasing” (rent with the right to purchase) reached 6,272 million euros until November 2021, 31.7% more than in the same period of 2020.
Specifically, the “leasing” on real estate was 808.2 million euros, 24.6% more, while investment in movable property grew by 32.9%, standing at 5,464 million, according to data released this Monday by the Spanish Leasing and Renting Association (AELR)
By region, Catalonia led the signing of “leasing” contracts that reached a business volume of 1,260 million euros in the region, 42.1% more than in 2020.
The president of the AELR, José Coronel de Palma y Martínez-Agulló, points out that “most of the productive activities that use ‘leasing’ present growth figures that anticipate a stage of consolidation of the economy”.
In Madrid, the signing of contracts reached the value of 1,065 million euros, which represented an increase of 12.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The NPL ratio up to October was 3.6%, three tenths more than the 3.3% registered in the same period of the previous year.
Regarding the degree of coverage of “leasing” operations in the first eleven months of 2021, it was 65.4%, compared to 77.9% registered in 2020.
The average duration of the leasing contracts up to November was 56.2 months, a figure lower than the 55.6 months a year ago.
With respect to November in particular, operations worth 760.8 million euros were registered, 59.3% more than in the same month of 2020.
Real estate leasing increased by almost 130%, to 91.2 million euros. That of movable property reached a volume of almost 670 million euros, an increase of 52.9%.
