On Wednesday, an Iranian security man was killed in an attack with light weapons and grenades on a police station in Zahedan, southeast Iran.
The city of Zahedan and border areas with Pakistan witnessed unrest on Wednesday after fuel smugglers were killed.
The governor of Zahedan city announced that, “After the spread of rumors and the tension in the foreign media, evil elements attacked a barrier with light weapons and grenade launchers in order to seize the Koren outpost and the castle of Bid, under the pretext of supporting the imaginary victims of the Shamsar Sarafan outpost, which was attacked yesterday.”
He added, “During this incident, a policeman was martyred, and thanks to the vigilance and accuracy of the police, security has been restored throughout Zahedan.”
