Iran announced that Israel crossed its red lines after targeting Secretary-General LHezbollah Lebanese Hassan Nasrallahe in the southern suburb of Beirut, and pledged to continue supporting the “Axis of Resistance.”
Ali Larijani, advisor to the Iranian leader, said: Ali Khamenei In statements to Iranian official television yesterday, Friday, Israel was crossing Tehran's red lines, and that the situation had become dangerous following the violent Israeli raids on what Tel Aviv said was Hezbollah's leadership headquarters.
Larijani added, “Assassinations will not solve Israel's problem. With the assassination of resistance leaders, others will take their place.”
Shortly after Israel announced that it had targeted Nasrallah in the southern suburbs, the New York Times quoted officials as saying that the Iranian leader called for an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council.
The newspaper added that the meeting was held last night at Khamenei’s house in Tehran, noting that it was the first of its kind since the meeting that was held after the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) Ismail Haniyeh On July 31 of last year.
For its part, the British newspaper Financial Times quoted an informed Iranian source as saying that whether Hassan Nasrallah was killed or not, the attacks would push the war to a completely different stage.
Iran had repeatedly threatened that it would respond forcefully to the assassination of Haniyeh, and some of its officials indicated that the response would be calculated, preventing being drawn into an all-out war.
Shortly after targeting the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Israeli reports indicated the possibility that Iran would respond, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a warning to Tehran from New York, saying that Israel could strike anywhere in Iran.

Also in Iranian reactions, the Iranian President denounced Masoud Bazeshkian With the Israeli bombing of the southern suburb of Beirut, he said that his country would stand by Lebanon and the resistance in the face of what he described as Zionist aggression.
Pezeshkian added that the Israeli raids on the suburb are a clear war crime and state terrorism.
The Iranian President also said that what he described as Israel's crime in the southern suburb confirms that it is the greatest threat to stability in the region and the world.
For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused Israel on Friday of using a number of American bombs to bomb Beirut.
Araqchi added during a Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East that Israel's war depends on American military and political support.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that the Israeli attack on the southern suburb of Beirut is a clear war crime, adding that the United States is a partner in it and bears responsibility.
Kanaani added that the Dahieh attack was carried out with American bombs, which is a violation of international laws, as he put it.
While a source close to Hezbollah said that Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah is alive, Reuters quoted a senior Iranian security official as saying that Tehran is checking Nasrallah's status.
