“We have information that the enemy was planning to strike Iran in the last days of Trump, but the maneuvers of our armed forces thwarted this,” Alawi said, in an interview with Iranian television, Monday evening.
Alawi added, “The enemy realized that we will settle on the ground any facility from which its fighters launch to attack Iran.”
And he warned: “We will strike US aircraft carriers in the event of any strike against Iran, and the withdrawal of the aircraft carrier Nimitz to the Indian Ocean did not take it out of Iranian missile range.”
Iran carried out 3 different military exercises during two weeks in January, coinciding with the process of transferring power in the United States from Trump to the new president, the Democrat Joe Biden, who took office on January 20.
