He continued, saying: “Although they performed a PCR test in the country from which they came, but after entering Iran, they were tested, and based on the information provided to the Ministry of Health today, their test results were positive and they were infected with the British mutated Corona virus.”
The minister added that the mutated British virus has spread to most European countries, and has become somewhat European, and that we have placed restrictions on the entry of people from these countries to Iran, including taking a negative test for the virus.
He continued, “However, we do a PCR test for all people who arrive in Iran from European countries and other countries, and they are isolated until the result is determined.”
The Minister of Health indicated that a suspected case of the British virus strain had been discovered in Mazandaran Governorate, but the results of the examination that took place on the owner were negative (i.e., not infected).
With regard to Iranian vaccine production, the minister said that the vaccine will be produced in large quantities next spring and will be available to everyone.
He added that the human test for this vaccine was successfully completed in the first stage, without any side effects, and the second and third stages of the Iranian vaccine test are currently being conducted.
