Iranian Minister of Security and Intelligence, Mahmoud Alawi, said that “if Tehran is pushed to build a nuclear weapon, it will not be its fault, but the fault of those who pushed it to do so.”
“We have a fatwa from the Supreme Leader (Ali Khamenei) prohibiting the manufacture of nuclear weapons, and that he opposes the Sharia, but if a cat is trapped in a corner, it may take a path to defend itself that differs from the free cat,” Alawi said in an interview on Iranian state television.
He added, “If they push Iran in that direction, it will not be its fault, but the fault of those who pushed it to do so.”
He continued, “Under normal circumstances, Iran does not intend to manufacture nuclear weapons, and it has no plan for that.”
