The protests denouncing the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip extended to include the Jews of Iran, as the capital, Tehran, witnessed, on Monday, a march denouncing the Israeli massacres organized by the Jewish community there, and it was accompanied by a protest for the same purpose organized by Jews in the city of Isfahan, located 340 kilometers south of Tehran.
Dozens of Iranian Jews, men and women, gathered in the Youssefabad Synagogue in the capital, Tehran, to condemn the crimes of the Israeli entity and the genocide in Gaza, in the presence of the leader of the Jewish community in Iran, Rabbi Younes Hammami Laleh Zar, the representative of the Jews in Iran, Member of Parliament Homayoun Samiah Najafabadi, and the Chairman of the Council Shura of Iranian Jews, Harav Yehuda Gerami.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a statement was issued on behalf of the Jews of Iran, which said: “We, the Iranian Jews who live in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Yazd, and Kermanshah, condemn the brutal massacre against the oppressed Palestinian people in Gaza, who are under siege and deprived of the most basic human needs, at the hands of the Zionist-Israeli entity.” We declare that the actions of this regime contradict Jewish teachings.”
The statement stressed that Israel’s actions are condemned by all religions and free peoples in the world, saying: “The imperialist countries’ support for the Zionist entity makes them complicit in the war crimes committed by the entity, and they are responsible for the murders committed against innocent people.”
The statement called for not targeting holy places, stopping massacres against civilians, and declaring an immediate ceasefire. He also called for lifting the siege on Gaza and delivering basic humanitarian aid such as fuel, medicine and food to the region.
In the city of Isfahan, dozens of Jews organized a protest against Israeli crimes in Gaza, after gathering in the Taj David Synagogue in the city. In a speech, the leader of the Jews of Isfahan, Suleiman Sadiqpour, condemned the Israeli attacks and said, “The practices of the Zionists towards the Palestinians are shameful.”
