On Saturday, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority decided to suspend the work of “Fly Baghdad” company, as of next Tuesday, until further notice.
The Iraqi authority said in a statement, that it “regrets that one of the national carriers, Fly Baghdad, has not complied with its financial and legal obligations, which prompted the suspension of its flights from next Tuesday, February 23, until further notice.”
She added that the company’s flights would resume after “resolving those requirements with the aviation authority,” without further explanation.
“Fly Baghdad”, owned by Iraqi investors and headquartered in Baghdad, was established in 2015. Its fleet consists of two Boeing 737-700 aircraft with a capacity of 149 seats and one Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft with a capacity of 50 seats.
